Where the prices, index levels and strategy signals on fintrens.com and Signals come from, how delayed they are, and how to report an error.

Last updated 11 October 2026

Strategy signals

Buy, wait and avoid readings, past signals and their outcomes on Signals pages come from Firefly's own rule-based strategy engine, operated by Fintrens Technologies Pvt Ltd. Each page shows the date its signal is as of. Past outcomes are simulated by applying the rules to historical prices, before costs. How the strategies work is on the methodology page and the Signals methodology page.

Instrument prices

Prices on instrument pages are end-of-day or last-traded prices from Firefly's market data, shown with their date. They are delayed, never live, and may differ slightly from your broker's. Exchanges own their data: NSE and BSE for Indian securities, the US exchanges for US securities, AMFI for mutual fund NAVs.

Index levels and market context

Index levels, currency, commodity and crypto prices on the index ticker and the world-markets board come from Yahoo Finance, are delayed (usually 15 minutes or more) and are refreshed every hour; each board shows when it was last refreshed. They are context only — no verdict is given on currency, commodities or crypto prices there. Index providers own their indexes.

Holidays

On a market holiday a page shows the last trading day's data and says so.

Errors and reuse

If something looks wrong, email services@fintrens.com with the page address; see the editorial policy for how corrections are handled. You may quote a page with a link; bulk reuse of market data needs the exchanges' permission, not ours.
