1. The service
Lantern is a marketplace that lists algorithmic trading strategies published by independent providers, shows their verified performance, and lets subscribers run them on their own broker accounts. Fintrens Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is a technology platform. It is not a broker, fund manager or investment adviser, does not hold client money or securities, and does not recommend any particular strategy. Nothing on Lantern is investment advice.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18, legally able to trade through the broker you link (a SEBI-registered broker for Indian markets, a US-regulated broker for US stocks, or Binance for crypto), and provide accurate information. Crypto strategies are not offered to residents of the UAE or other Gulf countries, or where crypto trading is not allowed. One person, one account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for everything done through your account. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms or applicable law.
3. Subscriptions and execution
When you subscribe to a strategy and set an allocation, you authorise Lantern to transmit that strategy's signals as orders to your linked broker account, sized to your allocation. Orders are placed as LIMIT orders in line with exchange rules; execution is not guaranteed and may be partial or delayed. You can pause or stop any strategy at any time; open positions are squared off at the next session.
Trades across several strategies or manual orders on the same instrument may conflict. You remain responsible for margin, brokerage, exchange charges and taxes, and for monitoring your account.
4. Fees and profit share
Platform plans are billed monthly in advance. Each strategy carries a monthly subscription fee and a profit share set by its provider and shown before you subscribe. Profit share is charged on net realised profit for the month above your high-water mark for that strategy; no profit share is charged in a losing month or until prior losses are recovered. Fees are collected through the payment method on file and are non-refundable except where the law requires.
We may change plan prices with 30 days' notice. Provider fee changes apply from your next billing cycle and are notified in advance.
5. Strategy providers
Any account holder may list strategies. By listing you confirm that you own or are licensed to use the strategy, that backtests are complete and include losing trades, and that live signals use the same logic as the verified backtest. Lantern may verify, pause, delist or require changes to any strategy, including when live results diverge from the backtest or when signals breach the listed risk limits.
White-box and black-box listings. A white-box listing discloses its trading rules to subscribers. A black-box listing keeps them confidential. Any account holder may publish white-box strategies and may share any strategy privately by invitation. Listing a black-box strategy publicly requires an approved provider registration: a valid SEBI Research Analyst (RA) registration and the supporting documents submitted in Settings and approved by Lantern. You must keep your registration current and tell us if it lapses.
Providers receive 70% of subscription fees and profit share collected for their strategies, settled monthly after chargebacks and refunds. Providers must comply with SEBI and exchange rules on algorithmic trading, research analysis and advertising, and must not make performance claims outside Lantern's verified figures. Sponsored placements are labelled and never change published performance.
6. Private and invite-only strategies
Invite links and codes are personal. Subscribers must not share them; providers may revoke access at any time. Private strategies are not indexed or listed publicly, but Lantern still verifies and monitors them.
7. Risk disclosure
Trading in securities and derivatives involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Past performance, including back-tested and verified live performance, does not guarantee future results. Strategies can and do experience drawdowns larger than any shown. Returns are affected by slippage, liquidity, market halts, connectivity, broker outages and changes in market conditions. Leverage in F&O can cause losses greater than your allocation. You should only allocate capital you can afford to lose and should understand each strategy's risk rating, stop-loss and drawdown history before subscribing.
Lantern's verification checks that published figures match the data provided and that live signals are tracked. It is not an endorsement, rating or guarantee.
8. Intellectual property
Lantern, its design, data, verification reports and documentation belong to Fintrens Technologies Pvt. Ltd. or its licensors. Strategy logic belongs to its provider. You may not copy, scrape, reverse-engineer or resell Lantern content or signals, or use signals from a strategy you are not subscribed to.
9. Acceptable use
You must not use Lantern to manipulate markets, front-run signals, evade exchange or SEBI rules, test or attack the platform, or impersonate others. API keys must be kept secret and used only for your own strategies.
10. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability during market hours but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change or withdraw features with reasonable notice. Where the platform is unavailable, strategies may not place or exit orders; the platform stop-loss and your broker's risk controls remain your protection.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fintrens Technologies Pvt. Ltd. is not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or indirect or consequential loss arising from use of Lantern, from any strategy, or from broker or exchange failures. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the platform fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for fraud or where the law does not allow limitation.
12. Termination
You can close your account at any time from Settings; open positions are squared off and outstanding fees settled. We may terminate or suspend accounts for breach, legal requirements or risk reasons, with notice where practicable.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, after a good-faith attempt to resolve them with our support team. Investor grievances relating to a SEBI-registered provider may also be raised through the SEBI SCORES platform.
14. Changes to these terms
We will post updated terms here and notify you of material changes at least 15 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.
