How it works

How Lantern works

Pick a verified algo, check its record, and let it trade in your own broker account. Or publish your own strategy and earn from subscribers.

If you invest

  1. 1

    Compare

Every algo on the marketplace shows the same figures: returns, drawdown, Sharpe, win rate, stop-loss, capital and fees. The analytics dashboard suggests a set for your risk profile.

  2. 2

    Check the record

Open a strategy to see its equity curve, monthly returns, drawdowns, trade list and live record next to the backtest.

  3. 3

    Subscribe

Pick a multiplier: 1x trades the minimum size, 2x doubles orders and capital. Combine several algos into one portfolio if you like.

  4. 4

    It trades in your account

Orders go to your own broker account. Your money never leaves it. Pause or stop any algo at any time.

If you build strategies

  1. 1

    Build or connect

Write rules in the strategy builder and backtest them, or connect a strategy that runs on your own servers through the API.

  2. 2

    Get verified

Lantern re-runs your backtest on its own data and tracks 30 days of paper signals before a public listing.

  3. 3

    Publish

List it publicly or share it by invitation, as white box (rules shown) or black box (rules private).

  4. 4

    Earn

Set a monthly fee and a profit share. You keep 70%. See publishing on Lantern.

Checks and controls

What gets checked

Backtest replayed on Lantern's data, live signals reconciled with it, drawdowns and stop-loss measured the same way for every algo.

What you control

Which algos run, how big (multiplier), when they pause or stop, and your broker account. A risk cap in Settings warns before you go over it.

What can go wrong

Algos lose money in some months and can stop working. Read the risk disclosure before you start.

Questions

Is Lantern a broker?

No. Lantern sends orders to your own broker account: Angel One or Zerodha in India, Alpaca or Interactive Brokers for US stocks, Binance for crypto. Your money stays with your broker.

What is a multiplier?

How much of a strategy you run. 1x trades its minimum size and needs its minimum capital; 2x doubles both. You can change it later.

What does it cost?

A plan fee, each algo's monthly fee, and a profit share charged only on profit above the previous high. See pricing.

How do I know the figures are real?

Providers submit backtests through the API. Lantern re-runs them on its own data, compares live signals with the backtest and publishes both records side by side. Every page shows the date the record was last checked.

Can I try before risking money?

Yes. The free Starter plan runs any algo as paper trading on live prices with simulated fills.

What is the difference between white box and black box?

A white-box strategy shows its entry and exit rules. A black-box strategy keeps them private; you judge it on its verified record and trades.
