1. Who we are
Fintrens Technologies Pvt. Ltd. operates Lantern, an algorithmic trading strategy marketplace available at https://fintrens.com/lantern. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: services@fintrens.com.
2. Data we collect
Account data. Name, email address, password hash, plan, preferences and notification settings when you create an account.
Subscription and trading data. The strategies you subscribe to, allocations, the orders Lantern sends to your broker on your behalf, fills, and the resulting profit and loss used to calculate profit share.
Broker connection. Access tokens issued by your broker when you link an account. We never see or store your broker password. We do not hold client funds.
Provider data. If you register as a strategy provider: firm name, SEBI Research Analyst registration number, uploaded certificates and identity documents, payout bank details, and the strategies, signals, backtests and invite lists you create.
Payment data. Invoices and payment status. Card or UPI details are handled by our payment processor; we store only a reference and the last digits where needed.
Usage data. Pages viewed, searches, device and browser information, IP address and approximate location, collected through server logs and analytics.
Communications. Messages you send us, questions asked to the on-site assistant, and support tickets.
3. Why we use it
We use personal data to provide the service (run subscribed strategies on your broker account, calculate fees and profit share, pay providers), to verify strategies and providers as required by exchange and SEBI rules, to prevent fraud and abuse, to send service notifications and statements, to improve the product, and, with your consent, to send marketing you can opt out of at any time.
Legal bases where applicable: performance of our contract with you, our legal obligations, our legitimate interests in running a secure and reliable marketplace, and your consent.
4. Sharing
We share data only as needed: with your broker to place orders you have authorised; with strategy providers, limited to aggregate subscriber counts, allocations and anonymised performance (providers never receive your contact details unless you share them, for example when requesting access to an invite-only strategy); with payment processors, cloud hosting, email and analytics vendors under contract; with auditors and verification partners; and with regulators or law enforcement where required by law.
We do not sell personal data.
5. Retention
Account and transaction records are kept for the life of your account and for the period required by tax, securities and anti-money-laundering rules thereafter (typically 8 years in India). Usage logs are kept for up to 24 months. Provider verification documents are kept while the provider is listed and for 5 years after delisting. You can ask us to delete data earlier where no legal retention applies.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, broker tokens are stored in a separate secrets store, access is role-based and logged, and strategy code is never uploaded to Lantern: providers run their own infrastructure and send only signals through the API.
7. Cookies and analytics
Lantern uses strictly necessary browser storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as your combine tray and a strategy you are building.
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how people find and move through Lantern: pages viewed, links and menus used, searches and filters, and steps such as subscribing or saving a strategy. These run in Google Consent Mode: until you choose Accept in the cookie banner, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and only cookieless pings are sent. Your choice is shared with the rest of fintrens.com. Change it at any time with Cookie settings in the footer and read more in the cookie policy.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise most of these from Account → Settings, or by emailing services@fintrens.com. You may also complain to your data-protection authority.
9. International transfers
Our servers are located in India. Strategy providers may be based in other countries; they receive only the aggregate data described above. Where data leaves India we use contractual safeguards.
10. Children
Lantern is for adults who can lawfully open a broker account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
11. Changes
We will post changes here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
